چکیده
The study aimed at investigating the concentrations and geographical patterns of 11 polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) 15 organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in reindeer muscle samples (n = 100) collected from 10 grazing districts Norway, 2009. Concentrations were examined for related to region as well age sex animals. measured PCBs OCPs meat generally low. Geographical revealed with previous mining activities, military trenches, or those that vicinity Russian border exhibited slightly elevated compared other districts. Calves (10 months) higher than young (1.5 year) old animals (>2 years) adjusted sex, whereas males females, age. All PCB congeners inter-correlated strongly each other, oxy-chlordane heptachlor epoxide strongest OCP compounds. all considerably lower maximum levels set contaminants foodstuffs safe human consumption by European Commission. Thus, is not likely be a substantial contributor body burden persistent organic pollutants.

Meat samples (n = 100) from semi-domesticated reindeer (Rangifer tarandus tarandus L.) were randomly collected from 10 grazing districts distributed over four Norwegian counties in 2008 and 2009. The main aim was to study concentrations and geographical variations in selected toxic elements; cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), arsenic (As), copper (Cu), nickel (Ni) and vanadium (V) in order to assess the ...

Meat samples (n = 100) were collected from semi-domesticated reindeer originating from 10 grazing districts in Norway. We aimed at studying concentrations, correlations, geographical variations and the effect of animal population density on vitamins A, B3, B7, B12 and E, and calcium, iron, zinc, selenium, chromium and cobalt. Mean concentrations of vitamins A, B3, B7; B12 and E were <5 µg, 6.6 ...

Objectives . To gain knowledge on toxic elements in semi-domesticated reindeer and their distribution in meat, liver, tallow and bone marrow. The correlations between concentrations in meat and liver, as well as the use of the latter as an indicator for toxic elements in meat, were also investigated. Study design . Cross-sectional study on population of semi-domesticated reindeer from 2 norther...
